El pleno del Parlament ha respaldado por unanimidad este jueves al Govern para que haga cumplir a la compañía aérea irlandesa Ryanair "los acuerdos vigentes" para que siga operando en el Aeropuerto de Girona durante los próximos cinco años.

También ha instado a la Generalitat a que lleve a cabo de manera inmediata los trabajos necesarios para incrementar el número de compañías aéreas que operan en el Aeropuerto de Girona, priorizar los destinos actuales más consolidados y ampliarlos.

Por otra parte, el pleno ha decidido instar al Gobierno del Estado a que efectúe de "manera perentoria" el traspaso a la Generalitat de los aeropuertos de Girona, Reus y Sabadell, en este punto con la oposición del PP y C's.

Ryanair to Slash Alicante Base by 80% This Winter, as Airport Imposes Airbridges to Increase Fees by €2m p.a.

31 ROUTES, 2.5M PASSENGERS P.A., OVER 2,000 JOBS LOST AND €30M P.A. BY AENA ALICANTE

Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, today (5th Apr) announced deep cuts of up to 80% at its Alicante base from October 2011, following AENA Alicante’s decision last week to force Ryanair to use airbridges, and pay over €2m p.a. extra for these unnecessary facilities. Ryanair has been operating at Alicante Airport for over five years without the use of airbridges and this decision by AENA Alicante is an abuse of its monopoly which increases Ryanair’s handling costs by over €2m p.a. Ryanair has submitted a formal complaint about this monopoly abuse by AENA Alicante to both the Spanish Government and the European Commission.

In response to this mandatory airbridge usage and €2m increase in costs, Ryanair today announces the following deep cuts at its Alicante base with the introduction of its winter 2011/12 schedule from October 2011 as follows:

· From 11 to 2 base aircraft (down 80%).
· From 62 to 31 routes (loss of 31 routes).
· From over 600 to less than 200 weekly flights.
· From over 4M to fewer than 1.5M passengers p.a.
· The loss of over 2,500 jobs at Alicante.

As a direct result of forcing this €2m p.a. airbridge use on Ryanair, AENA Alicante will now lose over €18m p.a. in passenger and turnaround fees from Ryanair and at least a further €12m in lost commercial revenues from the 2.5m fewer passengers which Ryanair will now deliver. Ryanair believes that AENA Alicante should reconsider this decision to break its long standing agreement (since 2007) that Ryanair passengers may walk on/walk off when boarding aircraft and reverse this decision to force Ryanair to use airbridges and pay €2m p.a. extra since this will now cost Alicante over €30m p.a. in lost revenues and see over 2,000 jobs lost at Alicante Airport.

Ryanair pointed out that the new terminal at Alicante has exactly the same boarding gate stairs as the old terminal, which would allow Ryanair’s flights to continue to apply its walk on/walk off boarding facilities. The use of airbridges, will significantly delay Ryanair turnarounds (because passengers can only use the front door), will lead to more handling delays and will increase Ryanair’s costs at Alicante by over €2m p.a.

Не са глупави Октомври е точно края на сезона. След това трафика е главно испанци и цените на билетите им падат, както и директната им печалба . Няма испанска компания в момента, която да се намира в добро финансово положение, ако ирландците се изтеглят частично от Аликанте и Каталуня определено испанските компании ще бъдат много щастливи. Много интереси са намесени. Развръзката ще е доста интересна.

Disabled woman wins case against Ryanair after being refused boarding help

A disabled woman has successfully sued Ryanair after her husband resorted to carrying her onto a plane when the airline failed to provide boarding assistance.
Jo Heath, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and is wheelchair-bound, spoke of her “humiliation” when her husband felt he had no choice but to carry her onto the plane at Luton airport, after being told their flight to Brest Brittany would leave without them.
Northampton Country Court heard how the couple were left waiting by the plane for over half an hour, when a hydraulic airlift that they had requested at the time of booking didn’t arrive.
Airline staff then allegedly refused to offer any boarding assistance for health and safety reasons. Mrs Heath says they proceeded to prepare the plane for departure.
“They treated me like an inconvenience, not a passenger. I was made to feel like it was my fault,” Mrs Heath said.
“When I was carried onto the plane, everyone was looking over their seats to see what was happening.”
The court forced Ryanair to pay the couple £1,750 compensation for its breach of contract and breaking disability discrimination laws.
Judge McHale: “All Ryanair was interested in was getting the plane airborne in time”.
Mr Heath said: “We feel vindicated because we have had to fight to get where we are.”
“I don’t think Ryanair will learn from this because they tried to brush us under the carpet. The airline actually offered us more money [out of court] than we eventually received [in court], but we refused it because they wanted us to sign a confidentiality clause. But we wanted open justice.”
The ruling Judge in the case, Paul McHale said: “She is a disabled person and she made arrangements with the airline to avoid humiliation in embarking the plane. The defendant did not provide that service.
“All Ryanair was interested in was getting the plane airborne in time”.
The court heard how Ryanair staff, including the plane’s pilot, had said that it was their policy to leave disabled passengers behind if they could not be boarded in time for the flight – a point that Ryanair did not dispute in court, the Northampton Herald & Post reports.
Ryanair is appealing the court’s decision, blaming what happened on Luton airport.
A spokesman for the airline said: ‘Under EU law airports, and not airlines, are responsible for the provision of special assistance to passengers.
‘This service is paid for by Ryanair and the failure of Luton Airport’s service provider to assist Mr and Mrs Health in this case was not the responsibility of Ryanair.’

Сайта на Ryanair е обновен и с нова визия. Засега съм с противоречиви впечатления. Предполагам че се свиква. Иначе компанията започва да предлага /засега само по два маршрута, Дъблин -Малага и Дъблин-Лондон Гатуик/ резервация на места срещу такса от 10 EUR. Прeдлаганите места са първи и втори ред за по-бързо излизане от самолета и 16 и 17 ред за повече място между седалките.
