The aircraft involved was a BAE 146, operated by Hemus Air, with a Bulgarian Crew. It was coming from Bucharest, ongoing to Rome. The aircraft touched down on the runway and rolled a few hundred meters before the gear collapse. According to airport officials, the pilots were aware of the runway conditions. Possible "scenarios" are collision with a foreign object on the runway, mechanical failure of the locking mechanism and possible and ice built-up (chunks) on runway.
